Land of The Moon River

I'm heading back to my beloved Low Country of the South next week and looking forward to seeing friends and colleagues.  The week is filled with book signings, radio interviews and amazing opportunities to meet some of the best authors of our time.

Thank you to The Island Packet of Hilton Head for their support and interview published this week.  Here is a link: http://blogs.islandpacket.com/39334.  Both The Island Packet and Bluffton Gazette are a wonderful resource for what is happening in the arts throughout the Beaufort County area.

On Thursday, February 17th, I'll be joining my buddy Monty Jett live in the studio on WLOW, 107.9FM when I'll be giving away a copy of my book, "Single 101" on the air. From there, I have a date with the beach!  On Friday the 18th, Jeff Williams and his staff at Books 'n Brew in Bluffton will host a "Single 101" book signing from 11am to 1pm.  Join us for lunch, a cup of cafe au lait or just relax and visit with special friends.  A percentage of book sales will benefit the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign.  That evening, we're off to attend the Savannah Book Festival keynote event featuring author Lisa Genova at Trinity Church, followed by dinner at The Lady and Sons.  Hey Paula, I need some of those garlic mashed potatoes, darlin!

On Saturday, February 19th, I'll be a part of the 4th Annual Savannah Book Festival.  Exhibiting in Telfair Square in historic Savannah, Georgia- it doesn't get any better than that!  I'll be there with books and CD's, eagerly awaiting to meet festival attendees and just maybe, destiny will shine a bright light on my work.  For more info on the festival, author, exhibitors and sponsors, please visit their link at: http://savannahbookfestival.org/

As I write this blog, it's snowing again on the frozen hills of the central Ohio valley and I pray that we'll see the azaleas beginning to bloom next week!  Whenever I think of beautiful Savannah, I'm reminded that it's the birthplace of Johnny Mercer, who penned the lyrics to the Oscar Award winning song "Moon River".  The actual Moon River that flowed very near to his boyhood home inspired great success of many.

Yearning to go back for so long, I've been given many gifts for this opportunity. It will be another chance to experience that place where time goes slower, troubles are few and smiles are prevalent.  See y'all very soon!
